Except as provided in 2. below, a pupil's attendance area and the school which a
pupil attends shall be determined by the legal residence of the parent(s), foster
parent, or legal guardian of the pupil.
A student of the Madison Metropolitan School District whose legal guardianship
is transferred to a person for the exclusive purpose of such student's
participating in athletics at a particular school within the District is ineligible to
participate in athletics at such school for twelve calendar months after the date
the student enrolls at the school.
