Inclement Weather

Inclement weather may be considered just cause for tardiness and may be considered a factor in recording absence.

Inclement Weather

Absence of a pupil due to inclement weather shall be recorded in official school records as an absence.
1. If a pupil or her/his parents are concerned about a perfect attendance record, the PRINCIPAL may use her/his own judgment as to recording that absenteeism on the pupil's report card.
Tardiness due to inclement weather may be excused, but the pupil shall be recorded as present for the day.
If a school is closed after opening for inclement weather or because of a mechanical breakdown necessitating the closing of a school, all pupils who were present when school opened shall be counted as present for the day.
Absences shall be recorded as a half day absence or a full day absence.
