POLICY	TRANSPORTATION	4213 Pupils

Transportation

Transportation shall be provided in accordance with s. 121.54 Laws of Wisconsin Relating to Public Schools.

PROCEDURE	TRANSPORTATION	4213 Pupils

Transportation - Bus Behavior

All pupil bus misbehavior shall be reported in writing to the building PRINCIPAL by the carrier within 24 hours. No pupil shall be put off the school bus except at school or their regular departure point. If the carrier wishes to deny or refuse a student or students bus transportation because of bus misbehavior, the building PRINCIPAL shall be notified. School officials will inform the parent or guardian of the offense and may initiate disciplinary action. Refer to specific rider rules for:
1. Yellow bus routes;
2. Specialized education service routes;
3. Metro routes.
The vehicle driver may use any reasonable means necessary to maintain proper and acceptable order of pupils being transported to insure the health, safety, and welfare of pupils being transported.
The following shall be deemed justification for refusing a pupil the privilege of riding a school bus or other carrier:
1. Yelling, cursing, obscene language;
2. Throwing objects within the vehicle or out of the windows;
3. Extending head, arms, or hands out the windows;
4. Fighting, scuffling, smoking in the vehicle;
5. Moving about in the vehicle while it is in motion;
6. Damaging property;
7. Any other conduct which might jeopardize the health, safety, welfare, or rights of other people.
Within the legal limits, any damage done to a transportation vehicle shall be paid for by the person responsible for the damage.
