Bills - Architect Certificates

Authorization for payment to contractors for public works designed by an architect shall be paid after the architect has authorized payment by an architect's certificate.

PROCEDURE	EXPENDITURES	6236 Operation

Bills - Architect Certificates

Architect certificates shall be submitted to Building Services for payment.
1. The number of copies required shall be determined by the Building Services Department with the architect's recommendation in writing.
2. During the construction period, an architect's certificate for payment shall not exceed 90% of the work completed or 90% of the value of materials or supplies furnished.
The Building Services Department shall use every means at its disposal to determine the accuracy of the certificate submitted.
1. The certificate shall be approved by the Director of Building Services prior to it being presented to the BOARD.
  1. Building Services shall retain one copy; two copies shall be sent to the Budget, Planning and Accounting Services Department and the BOARD for payment.
  2. Upon proper approval by the BOARD, the Budget, Planning and Accounting Services Department shall retain a copy of the certificate and pay the BOARD approved certificate.
  3. Proper recording of payment shall be made and retained by the Budget, Planning and Accounting Services Department.
