Application for the Use of Tennis Courts

To use the District's tennis courts, application must be made to the MADISON SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY RECREATION DEPARTMENT. The application must contain:

  1. The name of the organization requesting use, and the name, address, and telephone number(s) of the individual(s) representing the organization;
  2. The name and address of all the individuals who will use the courts, if available; or
  3. If names and addresses of individuals are not available at the time of application, an indication of whether or not at least one individual who will use the courts resides outside the Madison Metropolitan School District;
  4. The number of courts requested to be used; and
  5. The time, date, and length of time that each court will be used.

At the time the application is submitted to the MADISON SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY RECREATION DEPARTMENT:

  1. A certificate of insurance that reflects that the organization reserving the court has an insurance policy with provisions to cover up to $50,000 per occurrence for activities relative to the use of the tennis court must be attached to the application; and
  2. The District's Hold Harmless Agreement form must be signed by the person reserving the courts and must be on file in the MADISON SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY RECREATION office. This form includes a provision which requires the organization reserving the courts to agree to pay all maintenance costs the District may incur that result from damage to the courts as a consequence of the use of the courts.

Restrictions on the Use of Tennis Courts

Requests for permits to reserve the tennis courts may only be granted if the reservation for use:

  1. Is during the period beginning the Monday following the last day of school until August 1st; and
  2. Is for a minimum of three courts, which must be used on the same day for at least one hour.

The MADISON SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY RECREATION DEPARTMENT will limit the number of courts that may be used at any one site. Permits will not be issued if the use of the tennis courts will unduly interfere with the ability of individual residents to access the tennis courts.
