Travel Reimbursement

  1. A teacher assigned to more than one school qualifies for travel reimbursement.
  2. Travel reimbursement is authorized by the appropriate administrator on the basis of the employee's monthly travel report computed at the currently approved rate.
  3. The ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS SERVICES may approve a fixed monthly travel allowance of $45.00 or a prorated portion thereof, to an employee whose monthly travel approximated four hundred and fifty (450) miles within a one hundred (100) mile radius of Madison.
    1. Monthly mileage checks are issued to employees following the first BOARD meeting each month as follows:
      1. 48 week employees receive eleven (11) checks (no check is issued for the month of July).
    2. Trips beyond two hundred (200) miles are reimbursed at the currently approved rate if automobile transportation is utilized.
    3. A recipient of a car allowance is requested to file with the ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS SERVICES a statement that liability insurance in the amount of $25,000 - $50,000 - $10,000 is carried on the automobile.
    4. Any recipient who is authorized, in writing, to transport students shall carry insurance in the amount of:
      1. $100,000 bodily injury liability for one person;
      2. $300,000 bodily injury liability for each accident;
      3. $ 50,000 for property damage.

      The BOARD pays this difference in premium between liability coverage of $15,000/$30,000/$5,000 and the above 3.d.1), 2), 3) following submission of evidence of such required amount to the ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS SERVICES.
