Mobility

Student mobility in the Madison Metropolitan School District refers to the number of students moving into or out of a particular school.  Mobility data are reported in the form of a mobility factor (FAC) calculated by dividing the total number of students entering (transfers in and new enrollees = IN) and students leaving a school (transfers out and withdrawals = OUT) by the number of students enrolled as of the third Friday in September.  (Transfers refer to changes within the Madison Metropolitan School District, while new enrollees and withdrawals are students who enter or leave the District.)

The mobility data presented here are gathered during the school year.  They are tabulated from the Monday after the third Friday in September through the last day of the school year in June.  Changes during the summer and the first three weeks of school are not included.
