Welcome Schenk Staff!
This web site has been designed to take the place of the Staff Handbook. I've put all of the prior information in a much more user-friendly format, as well as added new links that I think will be extremely helpful in doing your job. Please let me know if there is something that you'd like to have added/ changed, that would be useful to you. Thanks for being a part of the best staff in the country!
Please note this IMPORTANT information:
The Schenk Staff portion of this web site may contain confidential information that is not available to the general public. Those portions are only accessible through MMSD computers. Therefore, if you are trying to access information in this section without success, it is probably because you are not on a district computer, or you do not have permission to access this information.
The New Laminator is Running!
Here are some important operating instructions to keep our new laminator running smoothly. Please follow these directions. Failure to do so may result in expensive repairs!
- Do not run glitter or any other magnetic objects through the laminator!
- Plug laminator in somewhere where there is space for the lamination to roll out the back and in an outlet independent of any machines pulling a large current.
- Turn on the main power switch on the back of the laminator.
- Make sure that the 1.5 laminate thickness is selected (it should default to this setting). Failure to do so will likely occur in a jam!
- Allow the laminator to heat up (approx. 10 minutes) until the ready light is illuminated.
- Use the table on the top right corner of the machine to determine what speed will work best with the items you are laminating and set the correct speed by pressing the faster slower buttons. Failure to set the machine at the right speed will result in curling or burning of your materials. If the heating lamp turns on while laminating SLOW the speed down and see the attached directions.
- Place your materials to be laminated in the machine and select run. Allow the rollers to turn about a quarter turn past the initial heating point.
- Use the cutting bar in back to detach your lamination (push down on the middle part and slide it all the way across the back).
- Make sure to turn off the main power switch in back. Unplug the machine. Put the machine back in its designated location.
- Do not run children or pets through the laminator. Although this may seem like a good way to keep them clean, it will, in fact, void the warranty on the machine (just kidding).
