What is an articulated class?
An articulated class is a class in which students get the opportunity to receive high school and college credit in select high school courses. In order to receive college credit, students are expected to complete the required work at a high level of proficiency. The concepts and skills learned will be used in most, if not all, career fields.
Which Shabazz classes offer MATC credit?
Shabazz has a number of different articulated courses to offer. Shabazz offers the following courses:
Microsoft Word   Microsoft Power Point Introduction to the Internet Macromedia Flash Macromedia Dreamweaver

How many Shabazz students have received credit?
To date ( June, 06 ) 188 students have received MATC credit through classes successfully completed at Shabazz!

What distinguishes receiving MATC credit from Shabazz credit.
Students enrolled in an articulated course must finish the course successfully (Pass / Fail system) for Shabazz Credit AND with a grade of "B" or better to receive articulated credit.

What are the benefits of taking an articulated course at Shabazz?

Reduced tuition: students don't have to pay for the college credit. (The average college credit at MATC costs about $100.00. This is a big savings for students).

Advances students in their MATC program if the articulated course is a prerequisite for another class: students will not have to take the class at MATC but will receive credit without paying a fee. Students may then advance to the next course in the program.
