During March 28th through the 31st, Malcolm Shabazz City High School attended the 2004 Service-Learning Conference in Orlando, Florida. Six students and three staff members represented Shabazz. The group's goal was to attended the conference and to present their workshop. The group also participated in a panel discussion and Jane Kavaloski won the State Farm Service-Learning Practitioner Leadership Award.

Shabazz students and staff presented their workshop entitled The Jewel of the Delta. The workshop was a combination of home-made teaching materials and technology. To view the website for the project, click here.

Shabazz was also involved in a heated panel discussion. The panel's topic was Equity and Diversity. Jihan, Roxie, Dominique, Jane, Martha, and Tenia were the representatives from Shabazz chosen to be on the panel.
