Djembe and Dun Dun Drums
African Drum Master and Maker, Djam Vivie', Guided 20 students
through the making of Djembe and Dun Dun Drums. Cherry wood was
gathered from a fallen tree in the school forest and used for the
drums. Students debarked, gutted, sanded, finished, decorated, and
headed their own drums. Then were given drum lessons by Djam. The
students then went to the school forest to play for the trees and
honor the gift given them by the earth.
