MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Malcolm Shabazz City High School is to create a harassment-
free/anti discriminatory learning environment where all people, regardless of previous academic performance, family background, social-economic status, beliefs, abilities, appearance, race,  gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation are respected.

We do this by:
* striving to be a school where all students are able to feel safe;
* encouraging students and staff to develop academic, social and emotional skills;
* viewing education as a life-long journey;
* developing an environment that addresses various learning styles;
* offering curriculum that is culturally diverse;
* encouraging students to participate in decision-making, conflict resolution, and Service Learning;
* encouraging an open mind; and
* realizing responsibility for positive change;

Fundamental to our school philosophy is the belief that education has the power to affect positive change and strengthen the connections between the student, family, and community. We believe in the power of community.
