MMSD SPONSORED ACTIVITIES
Call Professional Development/PI34: Government Programs at 663-4955 with questions.

Requirements:

  • Participation must occur during non-contract time

  • Participant must not have received other MMSD compensation (sub, travel, fees, extended employment, etc.)

  • Does not need to be directly related to certification/assignment

  • Advertised courses with "PAC approved" have received pre-approval from PACC committee.

Type of Experience / Hours Per Credit / Participant Responsibility

  • Courses & Workshops

    • 10 hours = 1 PAC
    • 5 hours = .5 PAC (*see note below)
    • DPI Clock Hours available for most face-to-face courses
      • Participant should initial the attendance sheet at each session of the course.  The course instructor will submit the roster to Professional Development/PI34: Government Programs.
  • District Committee Work
    • 15 hours = 1 PAC
    • 7.5 hours = .5 PAC
    • DPI Clock Hours not available
      • Participant should register on attendance sheet at committee meetings.  The committee chair will submit verification memo to PACC committee.
  • Independent Study
    • 15 hours = 1 PAC (3 PAC maximum per project)
    • DPI Clock Hours not available
      • Participant must get supervisor approval, call or email Professional Development/PI34: Government Programs coordinator to discuss, get pre-approval signed, and finally submit evidence of finished project.  The Professional Development coordinator approves project completion.

NON-MMSD SPONSORED ACTIVITIES

Requirements:

    • The sponsoring agency needs to arrange for DPI Clock Hourse
      • Participant should submit request form to PACC committee for approval.  Attach signed documentation of attendance, submit same school year or summer.  The PACC committee meets four times per year and evaluates requests.
  • District Committee Work
    • 15 hours = 1 PAC
    • 7.5 hours = .5 PAC
    • DPI Clock Hours not available
      • Participant should submit request form to PACC committee for approval.  Attach signed documentation of attendance, submit same school year or summer.  The PACC committee meets four times per year and evaluates requests.
  • Professional Writing or Presenting
    • 1 PAC per experience
    • DPI Clock Hours not available
      • Participant should sumbit request form to PACC committee, attach a copy of writing or professional conference, submit same school year or summer.  The PACC committee meets four times per year and evaluates requests.
  • Conference/Conventions
    • 1 day = .5 PAC
    • 2+ days = 1 PAC
    • Sponsoring agency has responsibility to arrange for DPI Clock Hours
      • Participant should submit request form to PACC committee for approval.  Attach signed documentation of attendance, submit same school year or summer.  The PACC committee meets four times per year and evaluates requests.
