Classroom Action Summary (CAS)
What is the Classroom Action Summary?
The Classroom Action Summary (CAS) is the precursor to the full InSTEP. It looks at current performance, what assessment and information may be necessary for a full evaluation, and what is currently being done to differentiate content in the classroom. It should provide the opportunity for discussion and further identification of educational needs for the student. In many cases, it will provide a vehicle to demonstrate to parents the "sometimes invisible" differentiation strategies.
