America's Library is packed with fun and useful facts like how, where, and when ice cream was invented and who really made the first American flag. The text is easy and fun to read but there are photos and illustrations to help you. This site is easy to move around in and has lots of useful links to other sources and informational sites. You can view historical documents and read interesting stories about our nationšs history. I was amazed at how much I learned at this site! Inventors Museum Online

This site is a good web site to find inventors. There is a search space so you can find an inventor of your choice. It is middle school level. It includes pictures and information about the inventors, and or inventions. Did you know who the first African American patent holder was? The answer is Marjorie Joyner. I found this out by going to this site.

Internet Detectives is a publication produced by Madison Metropolitan
School District (MMSD) middle school students as a resource for other
K-12 students. It is an ongoing, cooperative effort of middle school
Social Studies classrooms. Students find, evaluate and recommend Internet
resources related to the curriculum. This project is supported by MMSD's
Teaching and Learning Department and Library Media Services.
These Internet resources were evaluated on the basis of Site Selection
Guidelines. Questions and comments regarding specific sites can be sent
to the classroom teachers listed with the student author and school.
