My Travel Guide
http://www.mytravelguide.com

Daily travel news, reservations, currency converters, atlases, language guides, driving directions-they're all here. Mytravelguide.com helps tourists plan and organize trips with its many Net tools. You can even figure the time in other countries using the world clock. You can become a member and talk to others about your trip, but this does require you to enter personal information so check with your parents or teachers before you do this. Becoming a member is not necessary to use this site. This web site is exploding with useful information. For example, you can find airplane flights whenever you want, wherever you want, right down to the day of your departure. You can find almost everything you need at this web site. It even tells you what shot(s) you need and what credit cards they will accept. You can even plan your vacation around the listing of holidays and special events. This web site provides many links to hotels, airfare and trip planning. There is also a part of the site that has featured photos from travel destinations around the world. In conclusion, this web site was by far the best in travel knowledge and travel tips.

World InfoZone
http://www.worldinfozone.com/index.php

Have you ever needed to use the internet to find information on a country, but haven't been able to find a good site to use? Have you ever spent hours searching the web, but found practically nothing good to use? I often encountered that problem, until I found the site "World Info Zone." It's a great site with all the information you could possibly use on almost every country. I used it for a report on Jamaica, and it was absolutely great! It has wonderful pictures, interesting facts, and a well-written report covering such things as geography, environment, economy, history, culture, sports, and many other topics. It loads quickly and easily, is well organized, and is up-to-date. I found tons of good information to use, and it didn't take very long to get that information. This is an absolutely wonderful site to use for information on a specific country. I highly recommend it.

Internet Detectives is a publication produced by Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) middle school students as a resource for other K-12 students. It is an ongoing, cooperative effort of middle school Social Studies classrooms. Students find, evaluate and recommend Internet resources related to the curriculum. This project is supported by MMSD's Teaching and Learning Department and Library Media Services.

These Internet resources were evaluated on the basis of Site Selection Guidelines. Questions and comments regarding specific sites can be sent to the classroom teachers listed with the student author and school.

Questions or comments regarding the Internet Detectives project can be sent to Barb Spitz at bspitz@madison.k12.wi.us or (608) 663-1976.
