Have you ever wondered about Central America? Have you ever wanted to go to mangrove swamps and thick entrapping tropical rainforests? Then "About Belize" is the site for you. This page is endorsed and written by individuals of the government of Belize. The information is easily readable and also simple to find and access. This introduction to Belize is useful for both the curious web surfer and the experienced researcher. The page is updated frequently, every day in fact, and the pages have excellent maps and graphics. In addition, the site is well organized and getting around is a snap. I particularly like this website because it can teach you a lot about Belize, no matter how much you know about the nation to begin with. It even has sections on history, the people, the culture, and their industries. All in all, I think this site is one of the best on the Web; it is well written, beautifully set up, and it is simple and fun to use. I would recommend this page to anyo ne interested in Belize, whether just for fun or for a great help during research.

This is a great site if you need to do research on Belize or if your family is thinking of going on a vacation there! The site is full of information about the geography, government and general information about Belize. If you want to take a trip to Belize, this site does it all too! It tells you what you need to know about hotels, climate and even what shots and visas you need to enter the country. Just about everything you need to know about Belize, you can find n this site. It can even tell you where to shop and what you are allowed to take out of the country and what you can't. This site has great information and can really help you if you are doing research for a report. It is especially helpful if you want to plan a trip to the amazing country of Belize. The authors of this site are reliable and you can contact them if you want to.

This site shows beautiful photos of the scuba locations and the amazing sea creatures. It also has a culture and music link to help you learn about Belize's vivid culture. In addition, there are links for history, geography, weather, and climate.

Belize is home to two of the most endangered animals in the world, the sea turtle and the manatee. I'll bet you didn't know that. There are lots of interesting facts about Belize that most people don't know. Do you want to learn some of them? Then check out this site! It has a lot of information about the history of Belize, as well as useful tourism information. It loads fast, and the links work well. There are very nice and colorful maps of Belize as well. You can even contact and/or mail the people who made the site if you have any questions or comments! There are also links to find a travel agent and a calendar of events. Plus, you can get access to the Belize Tourism Board. There you can find travel tips and places recommended to stay and see. There is even an online tour! All in all, I would recommend this site to anyone who is doing a report on Belize or just looking for travel information.

Information on the Costa Rican government, and the history of Costa Rica is included on this site designed primarily for travel and real estate. You have to work your way through the links, but the information is there. Also, if you need excellent photos or maps for a project, this site is a good source.

While this site is primarily a travel and real estate advertising page, there are many useful links that give you a wealth of information about Costa Rica. Included are links on flora and fauna, history, economics, bird watching, rain forests, and volcanoes. Don't be discouraged by the ads. There is much useful information, you just have to surf around a little.

This website tells you all about the rainforest, the Panama Canal, the many different Panama cultures, adventures, the sea and beaches. It is a very specific website, telling how many species there are of flowers, birds, trees and plants. It is easy to use and gives you more categories once you click on a header. Once you open the canal section, you have seven more topics under the canal section to choose from. This website is very informative and explains a lot. Overall this is a good site.

Want to travel to "paradise"? Come to Belize. This site contains photos of activities and locations of interest in Belize. There is also a Spanish version. Another helpful feature are the maps. You can just print one off, and find your way. The site also tells about Belize's history, and describes the culture, and their many traditions. Special holidays and celebrations are also listed.

This overview includes the location of the country and some interesting things to see and do like visiting Mayan temples and scuba diving. On this page there are also links to the history, culture and geography of Belize. If you are interested in traveling to Belize, there are links to places to see and visit. This website is run by the Naturalight Productions and if you want you can contact them. This site also has lots of pictures of activities. This is a good site to go to if you are planning a trip to Belize or want to find out about the country.

This is a fantastic site for anyone and especially if you're planning to travel to Belize. "Belizeit.com" will give you information on what is currently happening in Belize and what the best rates for hotels, restaurants, etc. are. The links all work and the pages have nice pictures and aren't cluttered. You can even ask the makers of this website questions. On a scale from 1-10, (10 being the best) I would give it a 9 and one-half. Naturalight Productions Ltd. makes "Belizeit.com."

Internet Detectives is a publication produced by Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) middle school students as a resource for other K-12 students. It is an ongoing, cooperative effort of middle school Social Studies classrooms. Students find, evaluate and recommend Internet resources related to the curriculum. This project is supported by MMSD's Teaching and Learning Department and Library Media Services.
These Internet resources were evaluated on the basis of Site Selection Guidelines. Questions and comments regarding specific sites can be sent to the classroom teachers listed with the student author and school.
