Suggestions for creating a KIDS Report with students

  • Relating the topic/theme to the curriculum makes the process more meaningful.
  • Collaborating between teachers, librarians and/or technology teachers strengthens the process.
  • Working with small groups of students makes the process more manageable.
  • Completing the evaluations before the unit begins allows other students to use the evaluated sites for their research.
  • Looking upon the skills acquired in KIDS Report participation as part of the curricular goals works best.
  • Working during the school day as a part of the regular classroom curriculum is more effective than working after school as a part of a club or extra-curricular activity.
