Visual Arts is available to students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Students in grades K-5 participate in sixty minutes of visual arts instruction each week during the school year. Visual Arts classes explore a variety of media to build student artistic skills and knowledge. Additional visual arts opportunities are available in grades 6 through 12. Students in grades 6 and 7 participate in a visual arts class. In grades 8-12, students may choose from a variety of visual arts courses that may include ceramics, jewelry design, printmaking, graphic arts design, and photography. Each art class is built on the visual arts standards, which includes seeing, imagining, designing, creating, producing, reflecting, interpreting, understanding, and making connections through their art experiences.
All of these experiences in art help students develop an awareness and appreciation of various art forms, as well as the origins and heritage of the people who have explored them in the past. These classes in connection with the community artistic offerings, provide additional ways for students to learn from artists and to share their talents. Thank you for visiting our site.
