Music instruction is offered in kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Students
in grades K-5 participate in sixty minutes of music instruction each
week during the school year. The K-5 General Music Program provides
opportunities for students to create, perform, listen to, and analyze
music. This exploration of music is guided through the music
standards, which include singing, playing, improvising, composing,
reading, analyzing, evaluating, relating, and associating music. Additional
music opportunities are available in grades 5 through 12. Strings
instruction is available to students starting in 5th grade and follows
the instrumental standards. Students
in grades 6 and 7 choose between band, chorus, general music, and orchestra,
which are also guided by the standards. In grades 8-12, students
may elect to enroll in one of these classes.
These activities in connection with the community musical offerings, provides a breadth of experiences to help build student skills and knowledge of music. Thank you for visiting our site.
