Assessment: A standardized elementary assessment has been developed using the UltraKey Software. Emerging, Progressing, Proficient and Advanced criteria have been established. The Grade 5 exit goal is 10 words per minute at 92% accuracy. Keyboarding instruction is implemented and reported in Grade 4 and reinforced and reported in Grade 5.

Keyboarding Video Series: a 29 lesson video series designed to be the teaching guide for a six-week unit of keyboarding instruction. Also included is a video for staff development and care of the AlphaSmart Keyboards.

AlphaSmart Keyboards: A "tub" of 26 Keyboards is assigned to, and rotated among, a cluster of 2-3 elementary schools. These schools coordinate the responsibility for care, upkeep, delivery and scheduling. Cleaning and organization of the keyboards is in the hands of the schools, although Teaching and Learning will supply batteries and coordinate repair work.
