Purpose:
Step by Step…

Activate prior knowledge by discussing
how one thing can turn into something completely different (i.e. caterpillar
becomes a butterfly, wood becomes a house, seed becomes a flower).

| Step 2 |
Read Tomorrow's Alphabet by George Shannon to the students. Show
students the following Web site:

| Step 3 |
Discuss the possibilities for a class
book or slide show. Generate a list together as a class using the
pattern from the book. Assign an alphabet letter to each student and
have them create two pages for a book or slide show.

| Step 4 |
Open a painting program and
illustrate each page. Copy and paste illustrations into teh word processing
document and key in the predictable pattern.
