Lesson Plan

Purpose:

  • To create a clasroom book that students can read to themselves
  • Reinforcing math concepts

Step by Step…

Step 1 Take digital photos of all students in class. Erase the backgrounds so you have just their faces and shoulders.
Step 2 Read the book Ten Apples Up on Top by Theo LeSieg.
Step 3 Show students how to import their picture in KidPix... File - Import a Graphic.
Step 4 Decide how many apples they want to put on their head (it's nice to assign numbers so that you have a variety). Use the alphabet stamper to stamp the number in the corner.
Step 5 Using the pencil tool, draw the amount of apples on to their head.
Step 6 Use the painbucket to fill in the apples.
Step 7 Get the typewriter tool and type the following sentence: _______ has _____ apples up on top.
Step 8 Save and print.
