Great Writing and Editing Checklist

 Brainstorm your ideas.

 Write your ideas down. Edit later.

 When you have finished writing, use spell check and a dictionary to edit for spelling errors.

 Read to edit grammar and check for:

  • CAPITAL LETTERS for the beginning of sentences and names.
  • Punctuation and spacing after punctuation (one for commas, periods, ?, and !).
  • Indent paragraphs with the Tab key.
  • Read to be sure it makes sense and that you haven’t left out or added extra words.
 SAVE the changes you have made after editing your work.

 Center
your title with the alignment icon and make it bigger and bold.

 Add
clip art (optional).

 Use Page view to edit the layout, making sure it looks appealing to the eye.

 SAVE.

 Print your work.
