Cleaning Cadre Instructions:
Students are taking the lead.The
following are some simple instructions for cleaning a computer:
- Unplug the keyboard from the computer.
- Ground yourself (by touching something metal) and clean the screen with
a rag sprayed with glass cleaner.
- Ground yourself again and wipe the screen with a fabric softener sheet
to reduce static.
- Remove the ball from the mouse and set it on the small plastic circle that
covered it.
- Clean the rollers inside the mouse with a Q-tip.
- Wipe off the roller ball and put it back in the mouse.
- Wipe off the outside of the mouse and the "tail" which goes to the keyboard
with a rag dipped in the Lysol Water.
- Wipe off the keyboard with the Lysol rag, making sure that the rag is wrung
out almost dry first.
- Wipe off around the CD and disk openings and anywhere else on the computer
frame which looks dirty.
- Wash off the mouse pad if it is a plastic one. Wipe it down lightly with
a rag if it is a cloth covered mouse pad.
- Dust the table area around the computer and printer.
- Carefully plug the keyboard back in to the computer.
- Initial the computer number and write today's date on the cleaning log.
