Cleaning Cadre Instructions:

Students are taking the lead.The following are some simple instructions for cleaning a computer:

  1. Unplug the keyboard from the computer.
  2. Ground yourself (by touching something metal) and clean the screen with a rag sprayed with glass cleaner.
  3. Ground yourself again and wipe the screen with a fabric softener sheet to reduce static.
  4. Remove the ball from the mouse and set it on the small plastic circle that covered it.
  5. Clean the rollers inside the mouse with a Q-tip.
  6. Wipe off the roller ball and put it back in the mouse.
  7. Wipe off the outside of the mouse and the "tail" which goes to the keyboard with a rag dipped in the Lysol Water.
  8. Wipe off the keyboard with the Lysol rag, making sure that the rag is wrung out almost dry first.
  9. Wipe off around the CD and disk openings and anywhere else on the computer frame which looks dirty.
  10. Wash off the mouse pad if it is a plastic one. Wipe it down lightly with a rag if it is a cloth covered mouse pad.
  11. Dust the table area around the computer and printer.
  12. Carefully plug the keyboard back in to the computer.
  13. Initial the computer number and write today's date on the cleaning log.
