Lesson Plan

Purpose:

Step by Step…

Step 1 Read Corduroy by Don Freeman and discuss the appearance of Corduroy.
Step 2

Open KidPics. Tape a trasparency of Corduroy to the center of the screen or create a template.


Step 3 Use the pencil tool and second line thickness to trace Corduroy.
Step 4

Use the paint bucket tool to fill in Corduroy with the following colors:

  • color Corduroy light brown
  • color his pants green
  • color his nose dark brown
  • color the button white
  • color the small part of his eye black

Step 5 Key in Corduroy's name at the top of the page and the student's name at the bottom.
Step 4 More advanced students may key in the colors next to the clothes he is wearing, or write a short paragraph describing Corduroy.
