- Carry disks in a disk box. Do not use plastic bags because they
build up static which causes damaged disks.
- Avoid touching the metal shutter of the disk. Oil from our hands
can cause problems with the disk and drive.
- Avoid opening the metal shutter or touching the exposed film.
Dust particles and oils can shorten disk life.
- Avoid magnetsmagnets will destroy the data.
- Avoid temperature extremes.
- Check labels regularly to be sure they are not sticking up.
Turn the disk over to see that label is firmly attached.
- If a disk wont save, check to see if the disk window is
locked. When both windows are open the disk is locked. To unlock, slide the
tab to the unlock position.
- Back up your disk regularly.
- Use only felt tip pens to label disks.
