Lesson Plan
Purpose: Create a page for a classroom
alphabet book using an occupation that begins with your assigned letter.
Step by Step…
| Step 1 |
 |
Read Grandmother's Alphabet by
Eve Shaw, or What Mothers Can Do by Judy Lasker.
|
| Step 2 |
Assign a letter of the alphabet to each student. Work with them
to discover an occupation that begins with that letter.
|
| Step 3 |
In a word processing program, have the
children write their letter of the alphabet, along with the phrase,
"is for..." and have them fill in their occupation (Ex:
D is for doctor).
|
| Step 4 |
Using Kid Pix or another paint
program, have the students illustrate their page. Print out and bind
all the pages for a classroom alphabet book. Alphabet books can be
created on a variety of subjects, including animals, foods, feelings,
etc.
