Plan
Purpose:
- To create an original graphic
- To manipulate graphics
- To explore and use tools
- To use prepositions
- To use word processing
Step by Step…

Read the story The Turkey Saves the
Day, by Shelagh Canning to the class.
|
| Step 2 |
Talk about the many places the turkey tried to hide.
|
| Step 3 |
Explain and then brainstorm prepositions.
Write them on the board along with the sentence, ‘The turkey hid _____.’

| Step 4 |
Demonstrate using a variety
of tools to make a turkey. Include the student’s ideas as you demonstrate.

| Step 5 |
Refer to the list of prepositions
you brainstormed and choose one.
|
| Step 6 |
Draw or use stamps to illustrate the prepositon
you chose.

| Step 7 |
Get the typewriter tool. Using the sentence
starter and the prepositions, have the students write a sentence to
match their picture. Encourage students to use inventive spelling
/ phonemic strategies to complete their sentences.
