Lesson Plan

Purpose:

Step by Step…

Step 1 Have students log on to the National Women's Hall of Fame http://www.greatwomen.org.
Step 2 Each student should choose one woman they are impressed by and would like to learn more about.
Step 3  

Have the students read the woman's biography and answer the following questions about the person they have selected:

  1. Name the woman you have chosen.
  2. What do you already know about the woman in this biography?
  3. What was this woman's greatest accomplishment?
  4. What were the challenges faced by this woman and what actions did she take?
  5. How does this woman's life story remind you of your own life or the lives of people you know?
  6. What surprised you about this woman?
  7. Is this woman living now or did she live in past history?
  8. For what area of achievement and which year was this woman inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame?
  9. After reading the biography about this famous woman, is there something more you'd like to know about her?

Step 4   Have the students print their subject's biography, if they wish.
