Several oligo (ethylene glycol)-functionalized silanes have been synthesized and characterized.  These compounds were purified by fractional distillation under vacuum.  Doped with lithium salts, their conductivity was measured by a.c. impedance method.  These compounds have shown superior conductivity, low viscosity and high voltage stability, which is a potential electrolyte candidate for next generation lithium batteries.
