- The Board approved moving the bus routes
for Spring Harbor to First Student bus company. Because the number of routes
was reduced from 6 to 5, there will be a cost savings to the district of about
$177,000. Another $100,000 may be saved by not having attendants on the bus,
unless they are needed.
- Final adoption
of the 2005-06 budget because of the $8.6 million of cuts that the Board made
last spring along with the increase in state aid provided by Governor Doyle, the
district's tax levy will go DOWN by $2 million, the mil rate will go down
to $10.43 with an estimated decrease in school property taxes of
$137 on the average home. (The Board cannot spend any additional dollars without
approval via referendum.)
