As a result of the April 26 election among high school students, Joe Carlsmith will be the next Student Liaison to the Board of Education. Jacinth Sohi will be the alternate. Both students attend West High School.

The one year term for Carlsmith and Sohi will begin in July.

The student liaison represents the students' voice on the Board of Education, but their votes are only advisory to the Board. The alternate sits at Board meetings when the liaison is absent and serves as the MMSD Student Senate President.

Connor Gants and Jesse Ayala of Memorial High School are the current student liaison and alternate respectively.
