Jennifer Allen to direct Select Government Programs; Nancy Yoder moves to Elementary Lead Principal

Two elementary principals are moving to new positions in the MMSD. Jennifer Allen will become the Coordinator of Select Government Programs, and Nancy Yoder will be transferred to Elementary Lead Principal.

Both transfers were approved by the Board of Education at its May 1 meeting and will be effective July 1.

Allen has been the Elementary Lead Principal for the last three years. As Coordinator of Select Government Programs she will supervise staff professional development and Title 1 programs.

Jennie was previously the principal of Midvale School for eight years. She has a master's degree in Educational Administration and Special Education Administration from Northern Illinois.

Allen replaces Loren Rathert in that post. Rathert, previously the principal at West HS and interim principal at East HS, is retiring. Yoder is currently the principal at Stephens Elementary School and has been a principal for 12 years in the district. She holds a PhD. in Educational Administration from UW-Madison.

The Elementary Lead Principal works with elementary principals on the disproportionality of students of color in special education and the expansion of early intervention services, and other issues.

The new principal at Stephens ES will be named in June or July.
