Lori Bennett, EEN support staff, Shabazz High
Lori Bennett is an EEN Support Staff person who has totally integrated our
EEN students and programs into the community. Lori teaches Career and Child
Development classes for all of our students, and she co-coordinates a
Guided Study Program which is supported my numerous community members. Her
constant positive and "can do" approach to supporting is students is
infectious. Her willingness to volunteer on a multitude of committees is
appreciated.
Gina Acker is a Special Education Assistant at
Cherokee. The top 10 reasons why Gina is worthy of

Connie Greene, REACH Teacher, Allis/Nuestro Mundo
Elementary
Connie Greene started working in Madison as a teacher of the hearing
impaired. After seven years she went back to school and returned as a
third grade teacher. She currently is in REACJ and teaches 550 students at
Allis and Nuestro Mundo computers each week. She has taught in Madison for
25 years. Connie and her husband live and work on the east side of
Madison. Both of her children are La Follette High graduates.
Sara Knueve, Social Worker, Falk Elementary
Sara's dedication, compassion and strong commitment to the students and
staff are a vital part in making Falk School a special and safe place for
all children. In addition to her role as social worker, she is very
involved with a number of committees including membership on the School
Planning Team, Equity Team, School Climate Action Team, and chairperson for
the Family, School and Community Partnership Action Team. Sara also serves
as a staff facilitator for Student Council and Safety Patrol. She is truly
a "go to" person who really makes a difference at Falk each and every day.
Harriet May, kindergarten teacher, Glendale
Elementary
Harriet is the longest tenured person at Glendale, having worked here
since... well, I won't say how when, but it's a lot of years! Through all
those years she has been a major presence and leader at Glendale. She sets
a high standard for teaching, leadership, and most of all long-time
dedication to serving the students of Glendale. Her commitment to this
school and the students it serves is incredible. She is gem."
Pamela Ferrill, 5th grade teacher, Gompers
Elementary
Pamela Ferrill has done a fantastic job in organizing a structure for and
carrying out after school clubs at Gompers through MSCR. The clubs have met
both the first and second semester, and have served 45% of our students.
Thorugh the efforts of Pamela and enthusiastic participation of staff, the
first year of clubs at Gompers has been quite a success!
