The cost increases and plan changes for health insurance that are effective July 1, 2006 are detailed below.

Plan Changes:
As of January 1, 2006, Medicare Part D is available to Medicare recipients. We are required by this new law to provide you with information indicating that, as an active employee, your prescription drug coverage through WPS, GHC or the Alliance is at least equivalent to Medicare Part D. Please review the information mailed to you regarding Medicare Part D.
Teachers: health and dental through August, life through June (TERPS through August).
Temporary Contract Teachers continue health and dental through July, If your employment with the School District ends as of June 9th, your district contributed insurance for health, dental and life insurance will also end, based on your position with the district. The summary below gives you specifics to keep in mind.
For Terminations/Resignation/Retirements as of June 9, 2006: Life continues through June.
All others: health and dental through July and life through June
Reduction in Contracts
Teachers: health and dental through September, life through August
All others: Health and dental through the month after reduction date, and life through month of reduction date.
If you resign after June 9, 2006 but prior to starting work for the 2006-2007 school year, your benefit eligibility ends as of the last day worked in the 2005-2006 school year and insurance ends as indicated above.
For Substitute Teachers with Board contributions to health, letters for eligibility and intended interest will be sent in July with a deadline of August. If you believe you are eligible, watch your mailbox or contact benefits ahead of time 663-1746 if you are going to be out of town for an alternate address.
May 31st — Final day to use vacation carried over for SEE and Non-Union employees
June 1st — Final day to use vacation carried over for Custodian and Trades employees
June 30th — Final deadline for 2005 Flexible Spending Account reimbursement requests
Sept. 1st — Sabbatical leave request deadline for second semester 2006-2007
Unpaid Personal leave days (teachers) may not be used during last two weeks of the semester without approval from Superintendent.
