The deployment of the Infinite Campus student information system* can be considered a success as we reach the end of the school year's first quarter.

A critical role in the deployment of Infinite Campus is that of the teacher trainer. These are the staff who agreed to assist with the deployment of the teacher tools. They are:

• Mike Murphy
• Bill O'Neal
• Anne Schoeneman
• Dennis Tande

These staff became Infinite Campus "certified" trainers for the teacher tools found in Campus through a rigorous "train-the-trainer" session. They then spent many hours planning the curriculum that was used with their colleagues in teaching the teacher toolset, including attendance, posting grades and comments, and the grade book/lesson planner.

The teacher trainers held over 40 training sessions in August in which nearly 500 staff participated. Their training provided the basis for the September 1 training in which all instructional staff received basic navigation and attendance training.

These folks continue to provide support on the trickier issues teachers confront when using Campus. They provide feedback to the implementation team in further training needs, enhancement ideas, and general feedback regarding processes and procedures.

In addition, they continue to provide training to school staff on an as needed basis. One member of the team, Katie Johnson, has developed a comprehensive and very useful Teacher Tools web site full of "how to" guides and answers to questions.

The Infinite Campus teacher trainers have been instrumental to the planning and implementation of the system. They will continue to provide the needed advice and feedback as we move toward additional features of the system such as the teacher messenger module and the parent portal.

The project owes much to their efforts and it would not have been possible without them.

*The Infinite Campus student information system is the comprehensive software tool for most of the information about our students. It includes enrollment, registration, household, attendance, scheduling, grading, transcripts, assessments, activities and athletics, and behavior information, among other things.
