Public hearings scheduled as School Board receives budget
|
Information current as of April 10, 2007 As the Madison Board of Education continues to address the 2007-08 MMSD budget, two public hearings have been scheduled.
These public hearings allow anyone to address the Board about the proposed 2007-08 budget. Persons can speak for a maximum of three minutes or give written comments to the Board by completing a short form on site at the time of the hearings. On April 9, the Board received the 07-08 proposed budget from the Superintendent. The document includes an executive summary, financial summaries, and detailed budgets for departments and divisions. You can reach the full budget document and portions of it by clicking here. The Board's Long Range Planning Committee will hold a meeting on
Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Kennedy Heights Community Center. This
is one of a series of informational meetings held in the East attendance
area where a number of facility usage changes are being considered as part
of the budget process. The latest information about these possible changes
can be seen by
clicking here Their budget amendments (changes) must be submitted by April 24, and the Board is scheduled to finalize the budget on April 30. It should be noted that the Board can choose to push back the final budget approval. On March 9, the Board received the Superintendent's recommended budget
changes which list reductions in programs and services in order to balance
the budget. This document can be viewed by
