Tyrone Cratic, East High
|
Joe Thomas Community Service Award for Students Award RecipientsThis "E" is a proud symbol for Tyrone Cratic, accomplished athlete and a member of the East High BETA club for the past four years. Raising money through a bowl-a-thon, serving up meals at the Ronald McDonald House, and tutoring children have all been part of the community service experience for Tyrone. His admirable academic record has earned him the National Honors Society "Honors with Distinction" each semester he has attended East High School. Tyrone shows up, suits up and comes through. Dependability, patience and humility best describe this unassuming young man. Actively seeking opportunities for growth and improvement, Tyrone is in the game to win. In all endeavors, whether realizing success or tasting disappointment, his positive attitude remains consistent. During his football career at East, Tyrone went from spending some time on the bench to becoming a starting cornerback and being named Practice Player of the Year. Friends, teammates and teachers know they can count on Tyrone. As a founding member of East High's Black Student Alliance, Tyrone has made a personal commitment to serving as a role model to elementary school children. The ripple effect of his pursuit of excellence is obvious. Back to Joe Thomas Community Service Award for Students-Recipients Return to MMSD Today |
