Spencer Retelle, Memorial High School
|
Joe Thomas Community Service Award for Students Award RecipientsSpencer Retelle is an ambassador of goodwill and unity at Memorial High School. When Spencer commits, he is in it 100%. His whole-hearted dedication to music, drama, special events, forensics and student government are balanced with high academic achievement. It is Spencer's infectiously positive outlook that sets him apart from the crowd. A charismatic leader and tireless worker, Spencer has gained the respect and admiration of peers, teachers and his fellow community servants. Serving as class President in each of his four years of high school, all-school assemblies are stamped with Spencer's unique brand of school spirit. His dedication to learning made him a commended student by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. In the greater Madison community his volunteerism is well known. Since elementary school, this caring young man has spent his free time ringing bells for the Salvation Army, collecting donations of food and books for families in need, cleaning up parks, and tutoring children. As Vice President in charge of membership recruitment for the Spartan Youth Service Club, Spencer has lead by example and helped make community service one of Memorial High's largest after-school activities. Spencer Retelle is the embodiment of service, and a role model to all of us. Back to Joe Thomas Community Service Award for Students-Recipients Return to MMSD Today |
