Shirley Raymakers is Lindbergh's LMC director and also teaches a majority of the classroom computer classes. She is an integral part of the school, working with classroom teachers to integrate grade-level curriculum into LMC and computer instruction. The halls are filled with student projects Shirley has posted for all to enjoy. She schedules several all-school reading celebrations throughout the year.

Mark Wigdal is a very positive man who supports our school, teachers and students. He is always there whenever we need anything done. He'll say "I'll add it to my honey-do list" and it actually gets done! Mark is always good for a good laugh too! He ALWAYS has a positive comeback to anything we say! He is an all around great guy who we love to have around Thoreau.

John Hagen is truly a team player as our custodian at TJMS. He is an active participant in staff development activities, and he treats everybody who comes into our building with respect. His focus on student and staff safety is also greatly appreciated.

Esther "Gaby" Sanchez is a highly dedicated and skilled Bilingual Resource Specialist at La Follette High School. Through her hard work, Gaby has helped to connect Latino families from the East and South sides of Madison to La Follette High School. She is instrumental in organizing a monthly Latino Parents meeting that regularly draws more than 30 people to the high school chool library. Gaby is a true star, dedicating herself to the success of Latino students and families at La Follette High School.

First a cry. Then the crisp click of heels rushing through a hallway. Soon it's quiet again. Shorewood Hills Elementary School cross categorical teacher Beth Tarras has an instinctual sense telling her when her students are distressed and giving her insight into how to calm them again. The results of Beth's powerful instruction remind those around her of the gifts students with special needs have. Beth's students and their parents are reminded and are grateful for her work every day, long after they leave SHES.

Anyone entering Mendota Elementary School immediately comments on how clean and spotless the building is regardless of the time of day. Ed Carberry is always present to meet the needs of classroom teachers, the office or to accommodate district building service personnel. The teachers and kids and parents love Ed. He helps with lunch, playground when needed and he is always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. A smile is always on his face!
