On Friday, October 21st, ten members of the University of Wisconsin football team came to visit Elvehjem School. Elvehjem took second place in the "Yes We Can" food drive. The ten athletes, along with Assistant Coach Ron Lee, Director of Athletic Communications Justin Doherty and Community Action Coalition representative Chris Brockel, spoke to Elvehjem students about the value of service and the importance of giving back to our community. The football players donated canned goods to the Elvehjem collection, greeted children and handed out posters for classrooms. There were plenty of cheers to support our community and to support our Badgers as they headed into a Homecoming weekend. The Elvehjem students donned their red Badger wear for this energetic gathering — a great time to celebrate a great cause.
