Lapham El - Keith Frederickson, Custodian
Keith Frederickson is an outstanding custodian who really understands how he can support our programs here at Lapham. He also works with the Affiliated Alternatives at this site. He is very flexible and very responsive to our needs. Our staff appreciates his quick response to any problems at our school. Keith always is a positive member of our team here at Lapham.

Maria C. Ruvalcalba "Cecilia," Food Service Worker II-Floater
As a "floater," Maria goes to any district Food Service location as needed. She can be working on the packaging line one morning and end that same day as a cashier at West high School. The next day she might work all day at Emerson Elementary serving breakfast and lunch to their students. Cecilia also works for MSCR at Glendale each afternoon, as a group leader. You always see Maria Cecilia with a big smile and ready to do what ever is needed. In her personal life Cecilia and her family are very involved with traditional Mexican Dance. She puts on a wonderful performance. We are lucky to have her as a staff member.

Cathy Fait, Educational Assistant, West HS
Cathy Fait has worked as an Educational Assistant at West for 10 years and every day she is cheerful, funny, enthusiastic and above all, professional in her work. In addition to running an efficient Re-Directed Study Program, she is always willing to help where help is needed and never complains about any task given to her. Cathy has built great relationships with staff and students all of whom respect her and the work she does for West High School.

Brian Borowski, East HS social studies teacher
Brian challenges students in American History 9th and 11th grade. He also provides insight to students in American government courses. He is sensitive, yet demanding; funny, yet very down to business. He recently accompanied two students to Washington D.C, where they had the opportunity to interact with the Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. At lunchtime his room is full of students -- playing games, and the piano he somehow managed to get up to the second floor! He is always thinking of the students' needs, working hard to bring updated technology to East High School.

Jane Morgan, Speech and Language Clinician, Spring Harbor
Jane Morgan. Jane has been our Speech and Language clinician for ten years. She has recently headed our Positive Behavior Support Team and become Spring Harbor's coach. Jane has been monitoring data, observing student behavior and creating new "cool tools" for behavior intervention. Spring Harbor is pleased that Jane has assumed this additional responsibility.

Toby Artega, Head Custodian, Crestwood ES
While this winter has been tough on us all, it's no more so than for a custodian. Many, many days when we'd arrive at Crestwood in the morning, Toby had already been clearing snow for a couple of hours. He did so with his characteristic smile and not a whiff of complaint, and all this extra work didn't stop him from all his other responsibilities. He's a big reason why our school sparkles.
