On any given day, you may find LaVon Accola supervising breakfast, working the copy machine, taking I.D. photos or preparing for a school-wide event.

Yes, the scope of her role is impressive and these tasks are critical to the functioning of a school. But far more impressive is the way LaVon Accola gives her all to Toki Middle School. It's the details that make the difference, and LaVon has taken care of the details for more than twenty years.

An ambassador of goodwill, LaVon's special touch is felt everywhere in the building. She's the school's historian and photographer. Her eye-catching bulletin boards celebrate noteworthy events. Students at the high honors breakfasts are presented with her specially made placemats and certificates. She's solicited donations of clothing and supplies for students in need from area business. Lost and find items find their way home with LaVon to be washed and recycled to students.

When she's not on the job, LaVon volunteers at Toki, working one-on-one with students. With LaVon every endeavor is first-rate — every interaction a positive one. Whether creating a rubric for a lesson or a keepsake book for a retiring colleague, LaVon Accola is like an unbreakable thread in the fabric of Toki Middle School..
