Pat Schumacher, Schenk ES education assistant
Pat Schumacher has been an integral part of Schenk Elementary since 1985. As an educational assistant she supports the office as well as the LMC. She is always willing to step in and do what needs to get done to help keep the school running. Pat is a positive, friendly, and happy person who adds to the climate of the office and school. Thank you, Pat, for all you bring to Schenk!

Amy Campbell, Shelter Home teacher
Amy Campbell provides wonderful academic and social emotional support for the students who are in this placement for varying lengths of time by focusing first on student engagement. Her priority is providing her students with a sense of normalcy by creating a rich classroom environment that meets individual needs during a time that can be stressful and unsettling for them. Amy's upbeat, positive energy make her a perfect match for this unique program!

Marilyn Harper, 1st Grade Teacher, Falk ES
Marilyn Harper has the content knowledge and instructional skill to bring the most challenged student to grade level in reading within her first grade classroom. She works tirelessly to bring instruction alive for students through guest speakers, special field trips and classroom projects funded in large part through her fundraising efforts on evenings and weekends. She is willing to meet with parents in their homes and holds high expectations for parental participation in the education of their children. Marilyn understands the value of hard work and instills this in her students during the learning process.

Val Houthuizen, Leopold ES special educational assistant
Val is completing her 17th year as an SEA in the MMSD. She is currently supporting 4th grade special needs students at Leopold through collaborative efforts with the 4th grade cross categorical and home room teaching staffs. Val's kind and caring approach helps students feel comfortable and ready to learn. She also does a wonderful job 'above and beyond' working with small groups of students involved with our positive school wide program. Val helps students prepare positive climate materials and performance activities for school wide assemblies. Her efforts are greatly appreciated by staff and students alike.

Lois Bell, Allis ES teacher
Leader, organizer, communicator and collaborator are just a few of the words that describe this amazing fifth grade teacher at Allis. Lois Bell is an influential and dynamic staff member who leads others by example and who is always ready to go the extra mile for a child or fellow staff member. She uses her amazing organizational skills in her role as the key communicator for her team and to develop new ideas - such as the fifth grade "Make a Difference Team" - into a do-able project. Whether Lois is in the classroom, on the playground or in the hallways, she makes sure kids know she cares by being a visible, supportive and smiling presence. Frank Allis is very fortunate to have such a dedicated and experienced educator!

Brianna Sicher, West High math teacher
Brianna is in her fourth year of teaching mathematics at West High School. In addition to instruction in mathematics, Ms. Sicher aspires to instill in her students a "love for learning". As an educator, Ms. Sicher uses a variety of instuctional methods and strategies to enable her students to increase their comprehension of mathematics. Students and staff alike, value Brianna's contributions to our West High Community.
