How To Donate Computer Equipment To MMSD

What We Can Use

As of January 17, 2008, MMSD will accept donated equipment with the following minimum configuration:

PCs

• 1 GHz Pentium/Celeron processor
• 512 MB RAM
• 10 GB hard drive (20 GB preferred)
• Windows XP or greater operating system pre-installed
• Internal IDE CD-ROM and 3.5" floppy disk drive
• 10/100 NIC installed
• Preferred options, but not required:
  • 17" flat panel monitor
• Preferred Brand: Dell

Other

• Laser printers (networked preferred)

Process To Donate

1. Anyone wishing to donate equipment and District staff receiving donations should call the Technical Services HelpLine at 663-5853. Your call will be redirected to a HelpLine supervisor.
2. Donated equipment should be handled per the supervisor's instructions and shipped to:

3. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a HelpLine supervisor at 663-5853.

If accepted, donated equipment will be given a District property asset tag, entered into the District's electronic asset inventory, delivered to the destination site and placed into service. The donor will be sent a letter of appreciation.
