This year, we have a variety of options for new and continuing volunteers in school and community-based programs, where we work collaboratively with local agencies to provide academic services. Volunteers are matched with pre-school, elementary, middle or high schools based on their interests, geographic preferences and availability. Usually, we can place volunteers who are available at least one hour per week or more between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. We may have a limited possibility of evening hours, but usually do not have options for weekend hours.
New volunteers working in some programs (literacy and algebra tutoring, for example) will be asked to attend a training session when they begin their work. Workshops are offered throughout the year, and once you are signed up, you will be notified when these are scheduled.
