About Mendota LibraryHours The Mendota Elementary Library is open to students Monday 10-3pm and Tuesday-Thursday 9-2pm. All classes have a scheduled library check out time once a week. Students are welcome and encouraged to use the library more frequently than their scheduled time. They just need to ask permission from their teacher. Materials Check-Out Students are permitted check out materials as long as they do not have overdue items. Books check out for a 2 week period; magazines for one week. Materials may be renewed if needed for a longer period of time. When students have school assignments, they may check out more than their usual limit of items. Fines There are no fines for overdue items. About every 3 weeks, overdue notices will be sent home in Take-Home folders. Families are expected to pay for lost items or to contact the librarian to make other arrangements. Internet Use Students are expected to ask permission from the librarian in order to use the Internet. Students do not need permission to use Worldbook Online, Badgerlink, Culturegrams.
