What is CARP? |
CARP is an acronym for four design principles identified by the author Robin Williams (not the comedian) in the book The Non-Designers Design Book. Once you learn these four principles, you will be much more effective designing anything in print format. |

Now that you know the four design principles, open the Olive Garden menu and save it in your comptech folder. You need to make 3 Contrast changes, 3 Alignment changes, 3 Repetition changes, and 3 Proximity changes. You may add clipart. After you finish your menu, please complete the following design sheet. |

Now you're ready to make your own menu. This menu will be landscape (sideways on the page). You may complete the menu in XP Word or XP Publisher (if you're up for a bit a challenge). Here are some sample menus for you to look at if you need some ideas. |

It's time to learn about important national and international issues . After we identify major issues, you're going to run for an office of your choice. You may decide you'd like to run for US president, and you may decide you'd to run for student council president. Either way, you'll need to state your issues and let people know how you'll handle the issues. This will be another landscape document, and I'd like you to complete it in XP Publisher. You'll use this planning sheet to prepare. |
