We'll look at the source code of a few websites. Then you'll build a simple site on your own using Notepad so you understand what a webpage really looks like. Here's a basic page for you to use when building your simple site. Use the follow tags to modify the basic page: |
Dreamweaver |
I'm going to teach you how to use Dreamweaver, a web editing tool made by a company called Macromedia. It takes a while to launch, but then it works pretty well. The cool thing about Dreamweaver is that you can work in code view or design view. If you like to see all of the HTML tags, you can write them yourself, but you don't have to. First you'll have to define your site. In Dreamweaver, you have to tell the program where you're going to store all of your web page files. I'll walk you through this part. | Your site | When you design a website, the most important thing to remember is that you need to have something important to say. You need to have a clear message. You've spent several weeks gathering information about a travel destination. Use Inspiration to brainstorm the types of information you have about your travel destination. Your site needs to have an index page (that's the home page), and at least 4 other pages. Here are the requirements. |
